Mindfulness as Adjuvant Treatment for Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder: An Integrative Review

Obsessive‐compulsive disorder is characterized by the presence of obsessions and/or compulsions. Standard treatment, although effective in improving symptoms, more severe cases may not be sufficient. The objective this studywas to identify literature data on effectiveness Mindfulness as a complementary treatment reducing symptoms patients with obsessive‐compulsive disorder. This integrative review was performed Medline, Lilacs, Embase, Cochrane, CINAHL, and Web Science databases. A total 135 results were found, which only 11 articles used after applying duplicate exclusion eligibility criteria.
